About . . . Heating & Cooling
Getting comfortable begins with temperature. During the summer, we use Evaporative Coolers. Yours cooler's thermostat is in your hallway.
Coolers
The history on Evaporative Coolers is very interesting and they are remarkably simple. The system operates on circulating moistened air, which in our arid climate works very well in cooling our homes.
Your thermostat is in your hallway. Please click on the Cooler Instructions button (below).
Winter Heating - by the Room
In October we switch from Evaporative Coolers to our Cadet Softheat baseboard heaters. The thermostat for each room's heater is on the unit. Set it and leave it.
Bathroom Heaters
In addition to room heaters, we have very special bathroom heaters. They have both an on-off switch (that lights up when on) and a dial thermostat.
The on-off switch is a button located on the top front of the heater. The temperature gauge is located on the top of the heater.

Hot water Heaters
In the apartments, you have whole-house electric tankless hot water heater--bathe as long as you like. Should we have a power outage, your heater will default to 85° and you'll probably want to reset it to 110° or more. The dial is on the front of the unit.
